Some writers are born, some are made.
In sixth grade, when I was at our Lady of (No) Mercy in Dayton, Ohio, the teacher posted my English composition on the bulletin board as an example for my fellow students to follow.
In eighth grade, when I wrote a book report on The Diary of Anne Frank, the nun called me up to her desk with a stern expression and questioned me about my writing. I was mystified. What did I do wrong? Finally she asked me, “Did you write this or did your parents write it for you?” She handed it back to me with an A+.
I started reading historical romances when I was a teenager. When other kids were enjoying fun in the summer sun, I was at the library checking out four books a week. After getting a B.S. degree in journalism, I was a reporter briefly, then married and moved to Kentucky where my career died. When I landed a copywriting job at an ad agency, I began making a living writing.
After 10 years in the agency business, I went out on my own in LA as a freelancer, which turned into a 35-year career. I'm also a certified Reiki Master with a specialty in animal Reiki. Now I’m retired, putting the stories running around in my imagination on paper. My favorite thing is writing about the power of love.
I’m a member of Mid-America Romance Authors and Midwest Romance Writers here in Kansas City, and also the Oklahoma Romance Writers Guild in Oklahoma City.
